It was in this place where God first called Moses to liberate His people from Pharaoh’s tyrannical hand, where they were encased in slavery and grueling work. God listened to the prayers of His afflicted people and spoke to Moses through a burning bush.  It was on that mountain where God called Moses, He sent him and He supported him to complete His purposes.  (Exodus 3:1)

It was also on this mountain where God gave Moses His Word which was to be given to His people. (Dt. 1:06;4:10;18:16;Ex.19:1; Judges 5:5)

The name became personal for us because of where we live, we are surrounded by three large mountains. One to the south, one to the west, and one to the north of us. These mountains remind us of God’s Mount Horeb and the importance of answering the call of God to share His Word with all people. For this reason, Horeb Ministries adopted this name with the dual purpose of remembering the call of God on our lives and the responsibility we have to share His Word with others.  We believe His Word has the power to change and transform lives.
